WALLINGFORD GROUP
The July meeting of the Wallingford Women' s Institute was held at "Wallingford,'' Mrs J. D, Ormond presiding over a large attendance. Mrs Stevens, ' a new member, received a cordial, welcome. It was^ decided to hold the annu'al institute dance when a suitable date was available. Mrs Ormond introduced Miss Violet Russell, of Hastings, who gave a most interesting travel talk on her voyage out and her experiences in Kenya, and at the conclusion was aecorded a hearty vote of tlianks. After a refreshing afternoon tea had been dispensed by Mesdames Beaver, W. Pattison, M. Schiepens, F. Walker, Misses A. Wilder and Gaston; the conpetitions for the month were judged by Mrs Stevens and Miss Russell, and their awards were : — Best ironed tablecloth, Mrs A. Judd 1, Mrs S. Ward 2, Mrs E. McNutt 3. Plain Biscuits, Mrs Beaver and Mrs G. L. Jamieson (equal) I, Mrs S. Ward 3. A very amusing competition, guessing old photographs, was won by Mrs Judd.
