High Values for Breeding Ewes
BEEF PRICES RISE
The Feilding live stoek market yeslerday was fully firm at late rates, with appreciation iu values registered in the dairy cattle and beef seetions. Iu the dairy section some choice eattle were offered and these, being close to profit and guaranteed in calf, exeited keen competition. In the fat cattle section the enquiry was strohg and competition keen with tho result that prices showed a marked advance on last week's quotations. Breeding ewes met with a good sale find in the case of the younger stock values advanced to over £2 per head, several lines commanding this* figui e. Store lambs were also firm. • Fat sheep were again represented by a fairly heavy offering, totalling just over 1600, made up of slightly less than 700 ewes, approximately 730 lambs and just under 200 wethers. Ewe mutton was generally in better condition and •most of the offering carried good fleeces.
