The memliersliip fee for the ensuing ycar was fixed at 10/- for associate members, and oue guinea fo,r ilymg members. 'Tho annuai report for the year ended March 81, 10d7, is as follows: — Since we last met the club lias lost, by death, oue ot its benetactors, iU C. J. Nairn. Just prior to his death the late geutieman made a generous nonation to the club. During the year the preparation •. the surlace o: xne giouml was advaneej iar enough to permit of trainiug co be undenakeh and this has bee.. carried on very vigoreusly since. Shorl iy after last meeting, the Government suggested that the club acquire a further 1-1 acres on the nbrth-east corner. 'L'his has now been done and sufficient tunds have been raised to enable the purchase to take place. The transaction will appear in the accounts for next year. The accounts for the year disclose in the property account a loss ot £58 9/6. This' loss is mainly attributable to ihe depreciation on the buildings,' a rebate owing to the disturbance of tenanciea by levelling, etc., and the i'act that although the interest was payable ior 12 months, the rent was collectable on the 33 acres, and the houses thereon, for only nine months. Tbe nine acres of the 33 acres purchased last year iB not yet returning auy rent owing to its barren state. Also, the club has on hand a considorable quantity of fencing material resultiug ironi the demolition of the old fences, the destination of whicli is not yet kno wu aua ihe vaiue of wliich has not yet been asccrtained. lt is possible that a fair quantity of wire will be disposed of. Profit in Cljib Acoount. In the club account, the profit shown is £5 6/8. 1 think you will agree that this is very satisfactory. The treasurer reports that he auticipates tho expenses in this account to shrink by at least £10 during the year, and that the revenue will iucrease by approximately a further £10. The net loss for the year, according to the profit and loss account is £53 2/10. Tou will recollect that in the last report I stated that the club was cailed upon to find £350 under its agreement -with the Government. The amount spent on surface preparation to dato is £59 12/2 and the committee has appropriated the profit, which is shown on the firewood account, £304 4/9, to nieet their obligations in this agreement. You will see, therefore, that the club will be able to meet the ' charge without difficulty, Tho club is in a good position to meet all its obligations as far as interest is eoncerned. * Mr R- W. Carpenter wishes to retire, and I should like to place on record his valuable' services in the past. in conclusion, I should also like to place on record the very valuable assistance given to the club by the hon. solicitors Messrs Lee, Mackie, Harker and Mcl^ay, by the ladies' committee; who were kind enough to oigsmse a successful ball. Mr A.. E. Jull, in moving that the annuai report and balance* sheet be adopted, congratulated the committee on the way it had handled the finances. He also complimented the secretarytreasurer, Mr C. R. Watson, for the fine manner in which he had carried out his dnties. '
