Attempt on Portugese Premier HOUSES DAMAGED

(Received 5, 1.0 p.m.) LISBON, July 4. A bomb, placed in an eleetric-eable tunnel with the intention of assassinating the Premiei^ Dr Oli.veira Salazar, while on his way to Mass, exploded as he quitted his motor-car outside a private chapel, toaring a twelve-foot hole and damaging the frontage of houses. Dr. Salazar was not hurt and snulingly entered the chapel- and bade the service proeeed, after which crowds cheered him.
