BRISTOL, July S. | The Confldence in their batting, flrst. made evident at Nottingham and maintained at Taunton, was shown again at Bristol for ' the tourists scored steadily ag&inst those shrewd veterans, Goddard and Binfield, the left-hander, Emmett, and the swinging Barnett and Cranfieild. The weather was flne and the wicket good. Lamason was forceful, especially in off-driving and leg-hitting and his score included seven fours and four threes. Donnelly, ecarcely waiting to settle down, attaeked energetioally, scoring a sparkiing half-century in half an hour , before being caught. One shot, which hit the sight screen, was nearly a six, and he hit ten fours. Moloney played patient. and correct cricket for nearly three hours and his ; score includsd four fours. Weir and Roberts added 91 for the ! eighth wicket in an hour. Weir mingled caution with aggression, hit- : ting two fours and a six in one over ; off Goddard. Altogether he hit eight boundaries. Roberts steadily gathered a chanceless half-century. He hit five j fours and three threes, mostly with poweriul drives. Clean ground fielding helped to keep •lown the score. The tourists batted for nearly five hours and Gloucestershire batted for nearly fifty minutes and a happy crowd of 8000 gave generous applause. Lord Bledisloe, who was present, in a speech which Was broadcast through ioud-speakers, said he was pleased to Welcome the wOrthy representatives of the beautiful and ioyal Dominion.
