Two Waipukurau Meetings

Members of the two Waipukurau Foresters' lodges met in the Masonie Hall on Thursday. Bro. I. Logan preI sided over an excellent attendance of | members of the Juvenile Court Lindisay. j Bros. J. Cochrane and N. W. Taylor ! were accorded a hearty vote of thanks | for donating two trophies for competi- ] tion among the juvenile members. A j trophy is to be awar'ded to the - girl and boy who secure the most new members during the year. Bro. Russell De Lacey tendered his resignation from the office of SubGhief Ranger, and Bro. J. Thomson was elected in hia stead. Bro. De Lacey was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services to the lodge. One candidate was proposed for membership. At the conclusion of the meeting supper was served and members played indoor games. Court Ruahine, the adult lodge, met at the conclusion of the juvenil$ meeting, Bro. D. R. Logan presiding.over a fairly large attendance of menibers. One candidate was initiated ihto the Order by the Chief Ranger, assisted by Bros. H. J. Paget an£, J. Cochrane, P.C.R.'s, and lodge officers. Reports on the various social activities held since the last meeting Yrere received, the secretary (Bro. J. H. Hopkinson) being accorded a vqte of thanks for his organisation of thti lodge social evening. Replying, Bro. ? H5pkinson extended his thanks to members of the social committee for their ihelp, and also to those who made donations. Owing to his being unable to lcontinue in tho office of treasurer, Brii. H. J. Hartley tendered his resignation, which was accepted w>ith rcgret. Bro. N. W. Taylor was appointed to ftll the vacancy, and was installed in his .office by the prosiding officers, Bros. .,J. Cochrane and F. R. Logan. Supper followed the meetings an'd members then played indoor bowls. ■
