DISTRICT COMMITTEE
The Hawke's Bay District Coium.ittee met yesterday Present: Messrs G. D. Beatson (ehairman), F. P. Kelly, \V. H. Gaisford, Geo. Ebbett, I. Morrin, C. E. Twist and T. H. Lowry. A number of applications for licences and geutlemen riders' certificates were received and dealt with. The Department of luternal Atfairs intitnated that it would not oonsent to the Waipawa Raciug Club holding its race meeting at Hastings on Labour Day. It was stated that the Racing Club intended to interview the Minister in Wellington. The programme for the Poverty Bay point-to-point steeplecliase was approved.
