Management Committee Meeting

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. The management committee of the Central Hawke's Bay Rugby SubUnion held its fortnightly meeting on Thursdav night. Mr A. L. McCormick presided over Mcssrs C. W. Williamson (secretary), C. Gallagher, W. Cuthbertson, J. Ferguson, T. Nicol, V. Parsons, W. 1'hillips, and R. S. Rickctts. Apolo gies for absence were received from Messrs E. Kedgley, R. J. D. Sharp, A. W. Parsons and G. H. Voyce. A reply from the Palmerston North High School expressed willingness to play Te Aute College in Central Hawke's Bay on Saturday, August 21. — 7t was decided to write accepting tbo flxture, the placo "of play to be fixcd later. The Hawke's Bay Rugby Union wrote that one of the curtain-raisers to the match bfctween the Springboks- and Hawkev Bty on September 15, would be a gamo between Te Aute and Na-pier-Hostings junior lifteeiis. — ^Tho sej cretr.ry saiil hs- had obtained the sancI tion of the Te Aute authorities, as re'qnestod by tlic union, i,nd his action was confirraed. He moved that it bo a Tecoiau e'dation to the grounds committee tnat they save No. 1 ground as much as possible, us- ; ing their discretion, nad this motion, on being seeonded i»y 2vlr Ferguson, cairicd. Mr Parsons brought up the matter of school tfsms playing on the grounds. — A motion was passed to the effect that perm.ission need not be obtained for such games. Tho need ior attention to the ground ground tho stand was mentioned by Mr Gallagher. — The chairman replied that lio expected limestone to bo applied shortly. Takapau— Waipawa Match A discussion on the Takapau A v. Waipawa match was taken in committee. The referee, Mr J. Jeffreys, stated briefly what had happened, and the outcome of the discussion was the fobowing motion, moved by Mr Phillips, seeonded by Mr Ricketts, and carried unanimou$ly : "That any discipliuary action considered necessary so for the the Takapau A team is concemed (with reference to the Takapau A v. Waipawa match played at Waipawa on June 12) be left in tho hands cf Mr (Juthbertson, the Takapau dele^ gate, and tho Takapau club oiiicials." (Jonsideration was given to two matters introduced by Mr Ferguson. Firstly, he asked whether the sub-union was agreeable to players using the califont on training niglits. Secondly, he asked that measures be taken to stoD
petty pilfering. The chairman thought teams should be asked to leave the dressing-room in good order after training. This action was also agreed to. Concerning th pilfering, Mr Ferguson was authorised to appoint a person to suporvise the dressing-room. Gn the motion of the chairman, seeonded by Mr Phillips, it was decided that the senior representative team traiel to Hastings on July 15 (transport arrangements being entrusted to Ihe chairman, secretary and Mr Nicol), and that a date for a junior match at Hastings be songht from the sub-union tkere, July 15 being inconvenient.
