Pianoforte Group Meets The pianoforte group of the British Musio Society, under the leadership of Mias L. Clayton, met on Thursday evening at the house of Mrs. Gordon Roach, Kniglit street, Hastings. The meeting, which was very well attended, was devoted to preludes. Attention was directed particularly to Ohopin; Mrs. I. H. Blair read Cartot's ann-otations to Chopin's preludes, and she and Miss Clayton played some examples. Besides this the programme was as follows:-— Preludes from Bach's "48," Np. 1 in C, played by Miss N. Crawford, and No. 21 in B fiat by Miss Blair; Mendelssohn (in D), Miss I. Clayton; Ghopin (in D fiat), Miss N. Cumiiig, -and No. 7 in A, Miss D. Williams, who also played one by Dorothy Howell; Greig, Praeludium from the Holberg Suite, Mrs. I. H. Blair; Rachmaninolf, Miss F. Parkinson; Palmgren and Pouishnoff, Miss A. Loek.
