Successful Takapau Event .

TAKAPAU, This Day. The Takapau Htiht ClUb ball, which *vas held iu the Takapau PtibHc Hall an Thursday evefiiflg, was largely &t--tended and drew guests from most parts of the Hawke's Bay province. Ihe hall wa-s decorated with greenery and hunting scene pictures, the scheine being carried out with taste and restraint. A buffet savoury supper was served, and arrangements for serving were well carried out throughotit the evening, and the supper committee,- under the charge of Mrs Percy Wall, are to be congratulated on the smooth running of this part of the evening's entertainnient. Mr Wi Butican's orehestra provided excellent daneiiig mUsic, and coiitributed matetially towafds the suceess" of the evening. The honorary gecretary, Mr T. White, on whom most of the responsibility rested, was ably supported by the inembers of the ball coinmittee in carryiilg out all the arrangements aud making the evening as successful as it way.
