Sir Au'stin Harris^ presiding at a meeting'of Ihe National Baak of New Zealand, said: "While prices are good and trade is active, the New Zealand Government's poliey may not arouse concern, but a period of reaction will come in due course when trade will find it difficult, perhaps impossible, to, bear the additional costs the legislation has imposed. Minimum wages and shorter hours may hecome an economic impossibility. Tho poliey of guaTanteed prices will then be put to the tost and may prove to be a severe strain," However, he added, all felt sympatlietie, and expressed goodwill for the steps the Government was taking to improve the lot of the people.
