— Prest' Asaocialion.)
(By Telegraph-
AUCKLAND, Last Night. As the result of continued rain there is a possibility that the acting-Prime Minister (Hon. P. Praser) may be temporarily stranded in Whangarei. Mr. Fraser's engagements to-day were fairly light and there waa no great call f 6r hixa to byave the rain which felj practxcally incessantly. However, hi's programme embraces visits to Kaikoho a"nd Kawakawa tomorrow and to Dargaville on Friday, but unless the weather clears suddenly and remains fine it is unlikely he will be able to leave Whangarei. ' Reports to-day indicated that the road to the north was blocked and that floods and slips made the roiite to Dargaville impassable.. It will not be known until tO-morrow morniilg whether the Minister will be able ,to itilfil the resfc of his engagenients in the north. If rain continues he inay be delayed in rettirning to Auckland as the main highway to-day waS Mocked by a slip in the Waipu Gorge. »a °
