- Mr J. Erskine, Hawera, is payang a visit to Wairoa. Mr P. W. North, Wairoa, ia visiting Wellington. Mr S. Selig, on a visit to New Zealand from Fiji, is stayiing with friexids jix Wairoa. Mr and Mrs W. E. Lascelles, Palmerston North, are holidaying at tho Morere Springs. Mr J. Chicken, a former xcsident of Wairoa and now of Wellington, was married on the 12th inst. at Wellington to Miss Lynda Marqarft Douslm. Thev are to reside in Stratford. Mr Ol^rles Price, who has been faultman fst ^-Waipukurau for the last five years, has been transferred to Tauranga as radio mechanician and will be leaving Waipukurau shortly. Mr A. Jacobsen, who has been postman at Waipukurau for the last four yearst has xeceived notice of hie transfer to Wellington and leaves shortly. His position has been filled by a local appointmerit, Mr D. Braithwaite Mr O. W. Bush, line foreman at Waipukurati, has severed his connection' with. the Post and Telegraph Department to enter business with his brother at Palmerston North, and will be leaving this town shortly. A suecessor has not yet been. appointed. Mr W. Itlngland, late of the DannevTfke*®f^ng News, commenced duties to-day on ihe literary staff of the Central Hawke.'s Bay Press. He has filled the vacancf caused by the resignation of Mr E. 'W. Dawson, who has joined the literarf stfiff of a Wellington newspaper. \
