ANGRY ARGUMENTS
Pandemonium in Chamber i PABIS, June 30. M. Bonnet is reported to have told the Finance Committee that he will meet the Treasury obligations during the year at least partly by xaising the upper limit of the Government '& current aecount with the Bank of France by £100,000,000 to £150,000,000. He said the ordinary Budgct showed a deficit of £70,000,000 which would be covered by new taxation. It is regarded as certain that the Government wishes to be able to? devalue the franc further if neeessary. The Bank of France announees that pending the de eision of • Parliament it has suspended all exchange operations. The Chamber session reopened this evening. M. Sohmidt, recorder for the Finance Committee, stated that the Government 's financial proposals had the full support of the United States and Brit-. ain. It is believed the Government contemplates a fall from 100 to 125 f rancs to the pound. M. Schmidt added that the Government proposes to increase the income tax, certain indirect taxation and railway rates. The Chamber was suspended at 1.30 aan. owing to Communist disorder. The Deputies immediately raced to the re-freshmeut-room where angry arguments culminated in fist fighting between the Communists and Eight Wing Deputies ,who were separated by the S6rgeant-at-Axms. When the Chamber resumed at 2 a.m. the Eight Wing members demanded the suspension of the Communist fighters. •This caused pandemonium with the 'Deputies screaming insults at each other. Feelin'g ran so high that M. Herriot again suspended the sitting.
