Hastings Building Permits ACCOMMODATION R00MS1 An unusual feature of the monthly retums of the Borough Building Inspector, Mr. C. O. Garrell, for this month is the fact that there has not been a single new residence authorised. Such a condition has not prevailed for any month in Hastings for very many years. Another interesting item, '"nd a unique one for Hastings, is that of 1 1 accominodation rooms." This refers to a building to be erected at the corner of Heretaunga streetl and. Willowpark road *a,nd which will embody .15 bedrooms. This proposal introduces something new in the way of meering the housing question in Hastings. The present month generally has been a quiet one in the matter of 'new building yehtures, only 19 permits being issued, the 'total value of the work involved being estimated at £4764, as against 21 permits last June for £11,214 worth of buildings.
