Damage to Marist Brothera' School

WANGANUI, This Day. An early morning fiTe which started m a study gutted the Marist Bros. living quarters attached to the school at the corner of Wicksteed and Dublin streets. Water also flooded the classrooms which could not be used to-day. The library and all the school records were destroyed. Brothers Oswyn, Sylvester and Brenden sleeping on the premises had narrow escapes, having to make their w4y out of a window on to a steep roof over tbe classroom which, owing to frost, was very slippery at the time. The building. a wooden one, was erected 40 years ago.
