FORMER HASTINGS GIRL MARRIED IN HONG KONG
blum — lewis The wedding of Prudence Mary, younger daughter of the late Mr- T. W. Lewis, Hastings, Hawke's Bay, and Mrs Lewis, Hong-Kong, and formerly of Wellington, and Mr Carl A. Blum, representative in China of the U.S. Rubber Export Company, took place very quietly on June 14. The service at St. Andrew's Ghurch, Kowloon, was conducted by the Rev. H. W. Baines, the bride being given away by Captain H. H. Williams, after which a second service was held at the Russian Ortho- j dox Church. The mothers of botb bride and bridegroom were present. The bride's dress was a simple one of white organdie, with square neck 'and medici collar, worn over a tucked and insertioned lawn under slip. Her halo hat was of white baku straw, and she carried a white leather handbag. Her corsage spray of pink balsam and white jasmine, had been beautifully made by Miss Alice Gray, Wellington, who was staying at Hong-Kong. After ' the two ceremonies a small reception was held at the Peninsular Hotel. Mr and Mrs Blum are spending a month's holiday in Shanghai and Japan, aiter which they will return to live in -Hong-Kong until Mr Blum's "long leave," next April. Mrs Blum lived in Wellington for some years before leaving for HongKong with her mother, and was very weli known in musical circles.
