TRIPLE MURDERER
Sculptor Confesses and Surrenders To Police NEW YORK, June 28. A message from Chicago reports the sqrrender to the police pf Robert Irwin, whq wag wanted in oonnection with a triple murder outrage in New York, the victims of which were Mrs Mary Gedeon, aged 54, her daughter, Veronica, aged 20, who was an artist's model, and Frank Byrnes, aged 35, a writer, whq was a boarder in the apartment occupied by the Gedeon family. Irwin eutered a newspaper office and announeed his identity. The police were suinmoned and Irwin surrendered. He oonfessed readily. Paie and tired, he said that his conscience had been troubling him. He insisted that he did nqt want to kill blip model, the mothel- or the boarder, but pnly Ethel, the model's sister. He Bxplained that he was forced to kill the 3th er b because,' they came home whjle .le was awaiting Ethel. He said that the murders oecurred m the following order: Mrs Gedeon, Veronica and Byrne. Irwin shrieked hysterioally at times luring the narrative, but was nevep insoberent. He expressed amusement iver the fact that tlie New York police iverq unable to find him.
