Napier Motorist in Accident

GISBORNE, This Day. A fortunate escape from serious injury was experienced by Mr. Sydney Kiddle, of Napier, when a car he was driving left the bitumen and overturned on the side of the road a few miles from Makaraka. Mr. Kiddle, who was driving a sedaii car, was proceeding in the direction of Waerenga- a-hika and when passing the Bushmere turn-off his car lefl the crown of the road and got into the grass on the side of the road. Mr. Kiddle immediately applied the brakes but the slippery nature of the ground caused the car to skid for a distance of about 40 i'eet before rolling ovei twice and coming to rest on its hood, Besides Ihe driver, there were three passeugers in the car, but all escaped , serious injury. Mr Kiddle suffered slight facial iirjuries through beinj struck by flying glass. After receiving attention Mr. Kiddlet was able tc proeeed to his home.
