Fitness to be Insisted on MINISTER'S WARNING

WELLINGTON, This Day. In a long statement to-day with regard to the fitness of school buses, the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, to-day pointed out they must have fitness certificates. "They are no longer exeinpt under the Transport Act, ' ' he said, "exemption having been revoked last December. All possible steps are being thken to ensure that at the earliest possible date every vehicle carrying school children will have been inspected. ' ' Mr Fraser also said that in statistics since March 15 covering well over 500 aceidents there appeared only one ac&ident involving a school bus, and in that case it was found that the vehicle was in excellent condition, and fully complied with transport requirementa. The requirements with regard to ventilation and any other factor affecting health would be insisted on.
