The Hastings Harrier Club advises that its dance is to be held in the Oddfellows ' Hall on Saturday. Tlie Marton Club are guests for the evening, and Redward's orchestra is providing the rousic. Tenders are invited for the erection of about 96 chains of fencing in the Kereru district. ' Applications should be addressed to Murray, Eoberts* and Co., Ltd., Hastings, The British Legion (Hastings branch ) will hold a soeial and dance on Friday, June 25, at the United Hall, Lyndon road, at 8 p.ra. Members, friends and all interested are cordially invited. Members and intending members of the Hastings Orphans' Club are reminded that the second korero oi' 1937 will be held iu the Eitz tea-roorns, Heretaunga street, to-morrow, eoinmenciiig at eight o'clock sharp. The anuual raee meeting of the Dannevirke Hunt Club will be held on Saturday, June 26, on the Dannevirke racecourse. There will be moderate ndmission charges, and an'excellent day's sport is assured. Entries for the Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National meeting 011 August 10, 12 and 14 will close on Friday, June 25, at 5 p.m. with the secretary, P.O. Box" 385, Christchurch. C.I. McGlashan's Ltd., Napier, are ad vertising a special sale of furniture iu this issue. The sale w'ill take plaee at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning,,. wben the contents of the Club Private Hotel ivill be offered. The beds and bedding are in new condition, and everything is being 3old without reserve.
