WELLINGTON PLUNKET BALL

Raeegoers who will spend severdl days in Wellington during the forthcoming Race Week will be able to tak° advantage of the 1937 Plunket Ball. It will be held as usual in the Wellington Town Hall, hia Excellency the Govemor-General having consented to be present with his party. An outstaudlng orchestra has been engaged. The" decorations Will be unusual and promise to exceed by far last year3s wonderful display. Two ballets are being rehearsed and an exhibition danee will also be A feature of the evening. j •The ladies of the Plunket Society will undertake the catering a usual, so that nothing will be left to chance so far as the sapper is concerned. There will be the usual drink stall, and plaret pup will be dispensed free of charge. A i pipe band has been engaged and, after playing outside the hall, will act as a guai d-of-honour . to his Excellency. The variOUs committees are hard at work to make the ball the outstanding social success of the season. , The box offiee at the D.I.C., Wellington, will be open on June 30, and reservations can be , made at that date, no extra charge being made for reserving seats in the gal-. lery. The tickets are priced at 10/6 each. Special alcoves are also being arranged ttnder the two galleries -and parties can hire these at the cost of five guineas each. — P.B.A.
