Date of Manawata Game ALTERATI0N MADE The usual meeting of the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union was held last evening in Napier. Mr. J. W. Callaghan presided over Messrs. E. A. Young, H. V. Phillips, A. D. Lynch, E. A. Masley, R. I. Harrison, B. Tweedie, W. Lockhead, F. Cray and N. A. McKenzie. The representative fixture, Hawke's Bay v. Manawatu will now be played upon July 24 instead of on July 31, as foraierly arranged. At the request of the Manawatu Union, the Hawke3s Bay Union decided to agree to the change, owing to the faet that Manawatu 3s match with South Africa falls on August 4. A combined Pirates team will pay a visit to the Te Maoni Sub-Union on July 3 to play the leading team there. A challenge for the Tainui Cup, at , present held by East Coast, has been made by Maori teams in the Wairoa district, the suggested date for' the match being July 17. The challenge was received by the Hawke3s Bay Union, and it was decided to Tefer the matter to the New Zealand Rugby Union for the consideration of the Maori Advisory Board.
