Pukehou Meeting

The members of the Pukehou Women's Institute held their June meeting on Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Schultze presiding, and extending a hearty welcome . visitors. Notice was rqceived that the date of the drama festival had been altered to July 30. The motto for the month: "A good i'riend is likephosphorus, shows up in the darkest hour." Mrs. Schultze* introduced Miss Sybil Williams, delegate to the Christian Student Movement in America, who 0ave a vivid and descriptive talk on her trip from New Zealand to America, and of the delegates of the different countries she had met. At the conclusion the speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her interesting address. The results of the month 's competitions, which were judged by Miss S. Williams and Mrs. Jarvis, were: — Sandwich d'oyley, Miss Baldwin 1, Mrs. Gray 2, Mrs. Olsen 3. Wheatmeal scones, Mrs. Gray 1, Miss Osborn 2, Mrs. Moore 3. The roll-call was, "day of month and wliere born?" The hostesses for the afternoon weei Mesdames Olsen and Singleton and Miss Osborn. The singing of the National Antliem brought another happy afternoon to a cloae.
