Strong Men Haye No Push LONDON, May 22. To increase popularity of strong men and to overcome their habitual shyness, 36-year-old Mr C. G. Attenborrow, of Southwark, London, has founded the British Professional Strong Men's Association. "Strong men to-day haven't the 'push' they used to havey" he said. ' 'And they are not nearly so popular as they nsed to be. "But now something is being done about it. Most of Britain's strong men have joined this Association; and I want to put them back" where they were in. the days of Sandow, oue of the greatest strong men the world has ever known. "Don't think that strong men are just benders of iron and weight-lifters, "There is one member of the Association who is willing to meet anybody in the world up to 13 stone at throwing the 161b hammer; putting a shot at the same weight and tossing the caber. "Another is willing to take on anybody up to 14 stone at seuliing and wrestling. "Still another will take on all comers at sculling, wrestling, weight-lifting, diving, swirnming, running and eycling; and one 19-stone man can wrestle, box and beat most people in the hundred yards sprint. "Some people think that weight-lifi ing and performing other feats a strength is bad for the heart. That'. , rubbish;" said Mr Attenborrow. "i know of one strong man of 72 who is in per.feet health. When he was 60 he used j to juggle wiih eanpon balli."
