GENEVA, June 21. "1! you voto against tho 40-hour week, the textile industry will be hope^ less," said Mr. H. T .Armstroug, at the textile couvention of the Internationa] Labour Office. "VVheu hours were reduced to 40 a week in New Zealand, ineome increased by 20 per eent., aniounting to £11,000,000 a year, resulting in tlie demand l'or goods inei'easiug enonnously.'' New Zealand was prosperous to-day beeause of the iuereased spending power of the community.
