Miss L. Sherbourne Leaving Waipawa

WAIPAWA, This Day. A most enjoyable party was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. King, Waipawa, on Saturday evening, when a number of friends and members of the stafl? assembled to say fare well to Miss L. Sherbourne and Mr Alan Williams (Otane) who leave next week for Australia. The time passed quickly with games and dancing, musical itcms also being contributed by Miss B. Todd and Mrs. W. Prirjean. During the evening, Mr. A. E. King, on behalf of the members of . King 's staff and a number of friends, presented to Miss Sherbourne a handsome dressing case, wishing her every success and prosperity in the future. Musical honours and three hearty cheers wero aceorded, after which Miss Sherbourne replied thanking everyone for their evpressions of goodwill, and assuring them that the kindness which had been ex* tended to her while in Waipawa would never be forgotten. A very happy evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." Miss Sherbourne was the Waipawa candidate in the Bathing Belle contcst run by the Napier Thirty Thousand Club and was successf ul in being plac ed first in the final.
