Mr and Mrs H. JDyson, Napier, wero visitors to Waipawa for the week-end. Mrs W. Prajean, Auckland, is vining her parents, Mr and Mrs A. E. Jiing, Waipawa. Mr H. J. Pratley, Waipawa, is ua n visit to Wellington. Mr D, A. Preston has returned to Waipawa from a visit to Sydney. On the eve of his dcpujituie fi'oni Waipawa, Mr G. Cogswell, who hau aevered his connection with Williams and Kettie, Ltd., Waipawa, to take up a position with a Palmerston North firm, was met by the members of th»j local branch and presented with a reading lamp and eleetric toaster. Ln muking the presentation Mr F. M. Tickner, manager, referred appreciatively to the four years' service whicn Mr Cogswell had rendered to the firm, and conveyed 'the best wishes of the staff for his future prosperity. Mr Cogswell made suitable acknowledgment. Miss JN. Yatcs was the guest of honour at a soeial evening arranged by the inembers of the Waipawa Presby* tcriau Cirls' Bible Cla.ss.aud Presbyterian Church Guild, and held in thc Presbyterian manse on h'/lday evening last, when a very pleassr.nt timo was speut with games and coinpetitious During the evening Mrs Robertson, on behalf of the gathering, expressed regret that tlie time had come for Miss Yates to leave Waipawa and presented to her as a token of goodwill a crysial vase and jug, wishing her every happi ness and prosperity in the future. Miss Yates, in reply, said she was very sorry to be leaving Waipawa, and would always remeniber the many friends sbc had made in the town.
