Labour Question Under Discussion (Eeceived 27, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 21. The Australian Associated Press understands that the Pacifie Shipping Committee discussions are now centred around the working conditions of crews on subsidised ships. New Zealand iusists that the companies cannot expect a subsidy to be unaceompanied hy some form of control. They must accept the New Zealand standard of fair treatment of labour including matters of , wages, houfs and working conditions. The New Zealand representatives do not insist that there should he a government representatives on "the directorate, though they believe that it might be advantageous. They consider that the final agreement should embody watertight clauses ensuring that labour will receive a i'air deal. Mr Walter Nasli, tlie chairman of the committee, plans to leavo early in July. Agreement may be reaclied by tlie end of June.
