AT THE RACES

Tweed Coats and Fur Coats In Favour WINTRY WEATHER Many women racing enthusiasts were tempted by a glimpse of the sun on Saturday afternoon to attend the second day of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's winter meeting, but there was a definite nip in the air, and good heavy tweed coats or fur coats were worn by almost everyone. Among those present were: — "b Mrs G. D. Beatson, who wore a black coney ueal coat with skunk collar over her navy frock and a navy nat. Mrs T. H. Lowry, navy Oouccle coat with a pink carnation spray and navy veloar hat. Mrs J. H. Jefferd. fur coat over a. navy suit and a navy hat witli rod quill. Mre' P, F. Wall, green ensexuble trimmed with brown musquash and a smart green hat. Mrs E. J. Herrick, brown lailured coat with fox fur collar and a brown hat. Mrs W. ' Richmond, prune boiiccle coat with fur cape and a prune shaded hat. Mrs J. N. Lowry, navy ensemble, the revers striped with white and a navy toque with eye veil. Mrs F. C. Fryer, green and , grey flecked tweed coat with a squirrel necklet and green hat. Mrs Ii. Douglas, Russian marmot coat over a brown suit and small hat to match.
