1 ■— m 1 ■ 1 Massed Pack Run Held By Hastings Club MEMBER FAREWELLED On Saturday the Hastings Harrier Club held a seven-mile pack run from the Hastings High School. In view of the visit of the Marton Harrier Club for tbe annual inter-club race next week, the run was a comparatively easy one, and no run-in was held. The trail led along Railway road, across country to Riverslea road, where the Havelock stream was crossed, tfien towards Paki Paki till 1 tho Pukahu road was met, and back across counory to Norton road and along Murdccli road to the High School. The crossing of the Havelock stream provided a. somewhat difiicult task for the majority of the runners, this baving to be negotiated on two occasions. The traillayer's were S. Coles and L. Webb, At the conelusion of the run member3 met to bid farewell to a fellow member Mr. Geo. Ready, who has been transferred from the district. Mr A. Robertson, club captain ,in asking Mr. Ready to accept a small token from tlie Htenibers, referred to Mr. Ready's ability as a harrier and the interest taken by liim during his tesidenee in Hastings. He was a very popular member cf tho club and will be greatly missed at the weekly runs. Mr .Ready, jn responding, thanked memberg for tlie tnbutes paid him and wished the club every success for tbe future.
