Mrs. W. E. Yates Leaving Waipawa

WAIPAWA, This Day. There was a very large attendance in tho vestry of the Waipawa Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon, wBen tho ladies of the congregation and their friends assembled to say farewell to Mrs W. E. Yates, who is leaving to take up her resadence in Dannevirke. Mrs, Robertson, in a i'ew well-ehosen vvord-s, expressed regret that Mrs Yates was leaving Waipawa, and on behalf of the members of the church thanked her for the very willing way in which she bad always responded to any call for assistance. 'The speaker wished Mrs Y ates and her family every, success and prosperity in the future, and asked her to aecept as a token of remembrance of her stay in Waipawa, a'handsome tea-set and dinner waggon. Musical honourg were accorded and suitable reply was made by Mrs Yates. A beautiful bouquet was then presented to the guest of honour by little Miss Walker. During the afternoon songs were contributed by Mrs Strang (" Sincerity ") and Mi's G. Knobloch ("Iillo Words"), and a competition was won by Miss N. Bibby. Afternoon tea was served, and a vory injoyable gathering was brought lo a close with the siuging of' "Auld Lang Syne."
