Enjoyable Social Evening

TAKAPATJ, Last Night. The Takapau Defenee Rifle Club held its usual social and dance on Wednesday evening, there being a good attendance • of members and their friends. The "500" card competition was won by Mrs. Scott and Mr. W Edgecombe. After supper, which was provided by the ladies present, the cups and trophies for the past season were presented by Mrs. S. F. Smith, wife of the president.^ Mr. Smith congratulated the club on the successful past season, and apologispd for members who were unable to attend that evening. Mrs. A. E. F. Thomson provided music for dancing, in which the balance of a most enjoyable evening was spent.
