Lusk, as president of tb« Hawke's Bay Law Society, associated; himself with Mr. Grant' s remarks andi said that Mr. Duff had1 been. held somethiug more than respect by mem» bers of the profession; they had had an affection for him. Mr. Duff's death was not only a shoek but a great grie^ Mr. E. D. Mosley, chairman of tho commission, said that tho news of Mr. Duff's passing had come as a greafi shock to him. For the last 30 year« he had known Mr. Duff personally and well, and Mr. Duff and he' had beeij great friends. .Mrs. Duff was a greaf friend of his (Mr. Mosley's) 'wife, having been present at their weddin^ 30 years ago.
