Irpn Exports Barred ^ An order has been issued with the Gazette last night prohibiting the*exporcation from the Dominion, save with the consont of the Minister g| Customs of Qast iron and scrap metal. The order comes into force to-morrow. — Wel-. lington. Potatoes for Uruguay Two thousands bags of potatoes, each containing approximately 100 lbs. were loaded in the steamer Tairoa yasterday morning for transhipment to Montevideo by a local firm. This marks the opening of a new market for New Zealand tubers. The bulk of the shijh ment came from Oamaru. — Dunedin. Collegc Co-ordination Rpference was made to the co-ordiu-:--tiou of the work .of tlte Massey and J.rat-oln agrieultural colleges by Pro-fct-SOr T. A. Hunter, the chairman of the Massey College Council, at the capping ceremony, when he said that tbe qroposal for co-ordination was causing perturbatiou to some, but no deeision had yet been made by the department. Tho councils of both colleges would make reports before any decigion was arrived at and there was no suggestion of any alteration till a full inquiry had been made. — Palmerston North. Sudden Coliapse bhortly after starting work this morning, Alan Miller, aged 56, married, quiarry foreman, collapsed and died at the Mount Wellington Road Board's quarry. Mr Miller was a returned soldier and leaves a widow and family. He had enjoyed good health and had been emplpyed by the board for 10 years. No waming was given of the coliapse and it was only when workmea saw him stagger and fali that they realised he was ill. He died before a doetor arrived, — ^Auckland.-
