Maddisou, this mqrning when the question of improvements in a -portable residence for the teacher in a "country school : arose. Mr, Maddison added that many of the htfuses used by country teachere ' would not be tolerated 'in n totvn,. Although members were in favour of grantiug the application, they cousidered that tbe time was approaehing when a permanent residence should be oiected ou the site. It was decided to reply to the teacher stating. that while it Was agreed that the alterations should be effected, it was felt that a new residence should be built, The Education Department. is to, "be question to move in the matter.
