RAINBOW COLOUR SCHEME FOR THE BRIDESMAIDS
O'NEILL — BURT A rainbow colour scbeme was cliosen by the bride for her three maids at the wedding of Phyllis Annie Carswell, Frederick street, Hastings, who was only daughter of Mrs P. Burt, of Frederick street, Hastings, who was married to Sydney Arthur, son of Mr and Mrs T. O'JSTeill, at the Methodist Qhurch, Hastings, last evening. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell officiated at the ceremony, and Miss Napier presided at the organ. The bride was escorted by her brother, Mr Carswell Burt, and wore a loveiy gown of off-white gporgette mounted on satin, the skirt having a long train. The long full sleeves were shirred at the shoulders and caught into tiny cuffs at the wrists and the neckline was cowled in front. Her veil of embroidered tulle was arranged from a crown elfect o£ white flowers and she wore white embossed velvet shoes. Her trailing bouquet as composed of white flowers and ferns. The three maids who attended the bride, the Misse® Doris O'Neill, Isla Cockrane and Joan Carswell, wore gowns of delicate pink, lnaflv© and green georgette respectively. They were fashioned with. cowl neckliues, shirring at the waistline and at the shoulders cf the long) angel's sleeves. Each maid wore shoes to match her gown, and a halo of gold leav.es while their bouquets were composed of flowers in soR pastel shades. Little Miss Buckingham was a very dainty flower girl in a Jong frock of powder blue georgette with a higli bodice and frills up the skirt. tho wore gold leaves in her hair and carried a tiny posy of powder blue flow- , . ers. Mr J. Hooper was the best man and tbe groomsmeu were Messrs J. Alexander and B. Orr, while tbe ushers at the churcli Were Messrs J. McNab and D. McKee. The reception was held at the Country Club, Havelock, where a very happy evening was spent by the guests. The wedding cake, which was- made by Mr and Mrs T. O'Neill, was much admired, and after the wedding breaki'ast, dancing was enjoyed to music played by Mr W. Lord and his orchestra. Mrs P, Burt, the bride' s motber, wore a frock of burgundy satin-backed crepe with gold corsage posy. She wore a tur-trimrned coat in a deeper shade and a matching velour hat and carried a bouquet in'wine shades. Mrs T. O'Neill,. the bridegrooitt's mother, wore a navy blue. silk frock with lemon flowers at the neck and a navy hat. Her bouquet was in autumn tints. Wlien the brido and bridegroom left for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a nigger brown tailored costume with-a pinii jumper, brown fur stole and a smart little brown toque with a crystal ornament. Among the many beautiful presents were presentations to the bride from the United Hockey Club, the Methodist Senior Bible Class, and the Girls' Friendly Society, and- one to the bridegroom trom McBeath, Prisk and Co. Among the guests were Mrs Magill, the bride' s grandm other, Mr and Mrs E. J. iMurray, grandparents of the bridegroom. Other guests were: — Mr aud Mrs P. Carswell, Mr and Mrs Nickalls, Mr and Mrs W.
