Meeting of Central Executive
WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Tho initial meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Central Hawke's Bay Eugby Sub-Union Queen Carnival was held last evening. Mr A. L. McCormick was elected to tho cbair and presided over the following members: Messrs Paulsen (Takapau queen), Eddy (Tikokino-Waipawa queen), Buchanan (Ongaonga- Waipawa queen), Heise (Waipukurau queen), Spargo (Otane - Omakere - Te Aute queen), Ricketts, Wallis and Williamson (sub-union nominees). Mr A. W. Parsons (Porangahau queen) tendered an apology for liis unavoidable absence Mr Eicketts was elected honprary treasurer and Mr Williamson honorary seeretary. It was decided that the carnival should terminate on September 1, but details as to the concluding functionand the succeeding crowning ceremony wero left over until a later date. 9 The colours chosen by the yarious queons are: Takapau, red and black; Waipukurau, blue and gold; OtaneOmakere, Te Aute , blue; Tikokino, black; Ongaonga, blue and black. The first announcement of voting results is to be made on Friday, June 26, and thereafter an announcement will be made each Friday. Votes will bo calculated at 3d each, and it was arranged that pennants in the respective queens ' colours . be procured and flown at the various Eugby grounds each Saturday, being arranged from the top of the pole downwards in the order in which the vdting for each queen stands. s Mr Eicketts was appointed to control the dates fixed for functions on behalf of the various queens to ensure that there shall be no overlapping in this respeck,
