Re-grading Cutting and Overhead Bridge

It is reported that a start will be made fn the near i'uture by the Kailway Department with two large contracts. both of which will give pleasuro l« the residents of the district and the travelling public. Oue of theee is the i^-grading of the railwav cutting, which a( ])resent is soinewhat in the nature if a hurdle to trains on their way south iu sliopery weather. The otlier is the coustniction of ni. r xcrliead liridge at liult's crossing, on tlin Kopua nwi-d, which is oue of the most dangerous crossings on this seciiou of Itie Hue, ®hnv the Lrain emerges t'rojn a deep cutting on to a iiarrow crossing, and being on a down grade makes little noise. Many narrow escapes from serious aceident have been experienced by people using this road, and the sooner thifJ crossing is eliminatcd the happicr travellers will be.
