SWIFTS BASKETBALL CLUB'S JOLLY DANCE

Monday last was the night of nights for the followers of Swifts Basketball Club, when they held one of their jolly dances in the Barrie Studio. Gordon Redward's orchestra supplied the music and Mr. O. Jonson was M.C. The s'uccess of the dance was mainly due to the work of the club secretary, Miss D. Robertson, and a band of willing helpers. During the evening the Monte Carlo was won by Miss Inez Williamson and Mr. Leon McCormiek. The streamer waltz brought a most enjoyable dance to a close. Those present were : — Miss I. Williamson, check silk voile; Miss D. Robertson, black silk velvet with white velvet trimmings ; Miss W. Williamson, blue taffeta ; Miss RWright, check taffeta; Miss E. Bateman, chantilly lace gown; Miss J. Ivil was wearing a frock of pink satin ; Miss A. Brimer wore flame' velvet relieved witli silver lame; Mrs. Spence, check taffetas; Mrs. Deacon, flame velvet trimmed with gold lame; Miss Lulu Nejje, silver gown; Miss G. Giles, chiffon velvet puffed black net sleeves, pink spray on corsage; Miss E. Single-ton-Smith, marina blue crepe with bishop sleeves and wide patent leather belt; Miss M. Lorrigan, hand-painted taffeta gown and a white velvet cape lined with matching pink of frock; Miss P. McKay, pale green net worn over apple green satin ; Miss M. Hook, black velvet touch'ed with white ; Miss O. McKay, blue taffeta finislied at shou'iers with net; Miss E. Carter, green checked taffeta with coatee to match; Miss J. Carter, floral georgette with puffed sleeves and sash, spray to match ; Miss E. Ebbett, blue marocaih trimmed with lace ; Miss L. .Stewart, navy floral georgette ; Miss M. Kenny was wearing a frock of black taffeta; Miss O. Giles, Margaret Rose crepe trimmed with gold; .Miss S. Luttrell. black ang'eskin lace with velvet flowered coatee.
