Napier Branch Meets Mr A. E. Bedford pi'esided over the monthly meeting of the Napier SubUentre of the New Zealand lied Cross Society. A letter of appreciation was reeeived from the postmaster in respect of the services of the six V.A.D.'s who collected £73 2/9 for the King George Me- j inorial Fund on Coronation Day. 1 A full report was given by Miss King on the reoent meeting of the Crippled Children's Association. - 'The depot ''committee reported that since the previous meeting 41 cases had been dealt with and 151 articles issued. ° The nurses' report intimated that the attendance and interest at all classes had been fully sustained. The arrangements for holding the Lady McLean Challenge Shield were i'Urther discussed. it was decided to convey congratulations to the newly-forined centre of the society at Wairoa. it was further decided to instal a small first-aid box in the vieinity of the Hastings street railway crossing. The matter of obtaining further first-. aid stores was left in the hands of Mr Harman. Miss King reported at length on the recently-held meetings of the Dominion executive and Dominion Council at Wellington, the report showing that very substantial progress had been made at headquarters during the past 12 months. It was furthef rqported that Sister Stringer, the Junior' Red Groas Organiser, would be operating in the Hawke's Bay district during the next month, her activities haVing the full Support of the Health and Education DepartmentS. The chairman conveyed to Miss King congratulations ou the receipt by her of a Coronation Medal. A communication was reeeived from t-he Disabled Sailors' and Soldiers' Mutual Association intimating that an exhibiton of work made in England by badly-disabied returned soldiers would be held in St. John's Hall on the 19th, 20th. and 21st of July. It was resolved to offer every possible assistaace to make the exhibition a success.
