A dfop of nearly 17,000 in the ntuhber of unemployed males in the Dominion, compared with the figure twelve months earlier is shown in the total as st May 8, aceording to the Government Statistician, of 34,218 against 61,208. The total on full-time enhsidised empiayment dropped. from 15,938 to 5,916 and those on rational work from 15,528 to 6,21S. The numher on sustenance without work increased from 17,100 to 19,864.
