CRASH INTO WINDOW
Early-Morning Accident At Waipawa (Shortly after five o'clock on Wednesday morning a cax driven by Mr. H. Connop, of Hastings, erashed into the conf ectionery window of The Dainties in High streea, Waipawa. Mr. Coimop had with him three passengers, nono of whom was injured. It aj^pears that Mr. Connop made a hurried business trip to Wellington on Tuesday afternoon and lef t the city late in lihy evening on the return journey. A little while before reaching Waipawa Mr. Connop had felt the need for sleep and stopped the car for a time. The sleepiness wore ofl- and he continued the journey, but apparently he had a recurrence of drowsiness when jjroceeding along. Ruataniwha street, and, instead of turning the Commercial corner, the car continued straight on, mounting the footpath ,and crashing into the shop window. The car, which was badly daaiaged, was removed to a workshop for repairs. Mr. Connop and his friends Were able to leave later for Hastings.
