TAKAPAU, Last Night. Tfie military ball field in the Takapau Publie Hall on Wednesday evening was a brilliant and sUccessful function. The hall was decorated- for tfie becasion witl flags and military insignia. Tfiere was a large attendance, witfi a big percentage of tfie men in tfie uniform of tfif units to whicfi tfiey wero attaefied, tli floor, which was eontrolled by Captair Selby, looked particularly bright anc gay. • Tfie dancing music, which met witl warm appreeiation, was played bv Mi W. Te Tau's orchestra. The Bupper arrangements were cap ably supervised, the supper being pro vided by a'caterer. The joint honorary secretaries of th" ball committee and tfie other officer responsible are to be congratulated oj tfie success of the military evening which, in. future, will probably.be Jistet as an annual function.
