Sets Cost £100, And Are In Good Demand

A. u J.ni3 "Just around the corner" is the view which Mr- J. Carroll, a leading representative of the Tadio industry in Australia has formed after a trip throngh the United States and Canada. "Enormous expenditure will be involved to develop television on the scale of broadeasting, " he said, "and those who undertake the cost will have to be given some security regarding revenue." Mr Carroll said that the cost of a television set was about £100 compared with £4 for an ordinary radio receiving set sold in the United States. He added that two million sets had been mannfactured by one firm alone in the United States last year and the demand waa lceeping pp with supply.
