The Newcastle Migration Conference appointed a sub-commit-tee to prganise a» Ehnpire Migration Conference at London at an early date, Sir Patrick Hannon, former Secretary of the Navy League, orging the British Governmont to take the initiative, said that New Zealanci was anxious to encourage and increase British' migration. "Peeling in Australja, with the exeeption of one state, is against an immediate resumption unless Britain bears the cost," he said. Lord Bledisloe said that progress copld not be secured without overwhelming public opinion being in favour of migration in the Dominions and the IJnited Kingdom. "I consider ijhere is far more support for more migran's of the right type in New Zealand than is indicated by the New Zealand Government," he stated. l
