-By Air Mail)
LONDON, May 14. A girl's belief that she had changed ber sex is said to have led to the "marriage ' ' of two Harrogate friends, whose honeymoon at the South Yorkshire town of Whiston, near Rotherham, ended abruptly with the arrival of relatives of the "bride" to take her home. Ruth Barker, twenty-six-year-old daughter of a locomotivo engineer, of the Avenue, Starbeck, was married at Ghrist Church, Harrogate, by the vicar, the Rev. C. C. Thornton, on May 1. Beside her at the altar stood "_John Lionelle Dilinji," dark, slight, with a higli-pitched voice. The certificate gave his age as tweny-one, and his address at Caldwell House, Heaton Moor. Manchester. For year "John Dihnji" had been a friend of the bride. Their families knew each other. But "he" was a girl. ... The two were keen musieians. Ruth played the piano and gave music lessons and also played the violin on Sunday afternoon at a local church. Her friend was'known as a pianist and 'cellist. Then, about four' years ago, it is stated, Ruth's friend annouUced that she had changed her sex. Whenever she appeared before the family after that . date it is understood she was usu- . ally dressed in man's attire.
