Conference in Wellington Next Week

» WELLINGTON, Last NighL The Government'a plans for the purchase of long distance road freight services are to be considered at a conference of the private operators affected to be held in Wellington next week. When asked what move, if any, the combined private transport operators proposed to make in view of the Government's intentions as announced, Mr. H. J. Knight, of Wellington, secretary of of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance, said that the question rested with the conference. It was expected that there would be a large and representative attendance from all the main centres and other towns affected by the proposed purchases.
