\ Napier-Hastings Defeat Central H.B. In an interesting tussle as the eurtain-raiser to the main attraetion at McLean Park, Napier, yesterday, a Napier-Hastings side narrowly defeated Central Mawne's Bay by lli points to eight. The game was uright and interesting, several individual movements on each side producnng thrills for the spectators. Eor a long period of the game, Central Hawke's Bay were on top. aud ifc was not till the last stages of the match that brilliant play by the combined teani backs produced the winning points. Promment in all back play was C. Joll, who, int addition to scoring a try, anitiated several good movements. Otker points were scored by JFord, Bishop and G. Cox, each of whom scored a try, while Ceneral Hawke's Bay's points were made up oi' a penalty by Higgins, and a try by A. Wilson, which was converted by Higgins.
