Annuel Meeting of Takapau Branch

TAKAPAU, Last Night. The annual general meeting of the Takapau branch of the Hawke's Bay W ar Relief Association was held on Monday evening, Mr E. F. Stubbs presiding. The report and balance-sheet for the year ended March 31, 1937, ^ere read and adopted. A vote of condolence to the widow and family of the late Mr H. J, Russell who had acted as central secretary of , the association since its inception in 1916, was moved by the chairman and carried in the customary manner. , Yotes,. of thanks were accorded the executive officers of the branch and to the chairman, Mr J. M. Barrie, and members of the . Hawke's Bay executive. The branch committee was re-elected as follow.— Messrs E. F. Stubbs, N. M. Paulsen, W. Cuthbertson, A. W. Cook, G. .S. White, J. Caughley and O. H. Bjorngaard. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Mr Stubbs was elected chairman. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. Cuthbertson. It was decided to report to the Hawke's Bay executive on outstanding loans . Several grants for temporary assiatance were confirmed Applications were dealt with, cases reviewed, and recommendations made to the Hawke's Bay executive according to requirements.
